I first heard about Beato after stumbling onto his YouTube channel. During the pandemic, for example, many music fans migrated to the internet to watch various forms of music because live music was off-limits. “I still feel at 60 the same way I did when I was 14,” he said recently in a YouTube video. His face lights up when he talks about his family on his YouTube channel. “My YouTube Channel was a way to honor my parents and leave something for my kids.

I started really young when I was 6. You guys have been very successful and, I think, really strategic about the way you’ve been releasing this album, starting with your single, “Nothing Matters,” almost a year ago. AP: The New York Times did a profile on Måneskin a few months ago, asking if they were the last rock band. ... Every four or five years there’s a different kind of thing that’s à la mode. They like to say things like “last rock band ever” or “first rock band ever,” or “first women to do this.” And it’s not true.

Also entering the hall are The Spinners, Rage Against the Machine, DJ Kool Herc, Link Wray, Al Kooper and Elton John’s longtime co-songwriter Bernie Taupin. LONDON, Oct 17 (Reuters) - A fully restored double-decker bus used by Paul McCartney and his band Wings for a 1972 European tour is headed for auction next month, with bids expected at $200,000-300,000. Former Beatle McCartney and his late wife Linda formed the American-British rock band, Paul McCartney and Wings, known as Wings, together with drummer Denny Seiwell and guitarist Denny Laine in 1971, after the break-up of the legendary band. In the summer of 1972, they set off for the “Wings Over Europe" tour, travelling on the 1953 Bristol KSW double-decker bus, known as WNO 481. The bus, whose exterior is painted in shades of blue, red, green and yellow, with psychedelic artwork, reflecting the hippie style of the era, travelled across nine European countries on the 1972 tour. "This bus went all over south of France and Germany and Finland...just a summer of fun with the Wings band," said Nolan.

Hate Gen X? Get in Line (Behind a Gen X-er).

I was born in 1969 and I have feelings about generations. And, punching older, “Why is Eric Clapton on tour and Sinead O’Connor and Kurt Cobain are dead?” as the film critic A.S. Hamrah put it to me. Behold these recent tweets — I mean “posts on X,” formerly known as Twitter, run by a Gen X-er with whom I have no wish to affiliate myself, generationally or otherwise:“Gen X sucks.”“Gen X had it so good with their high income jobs with excel skills and 30yr fixed interest mortgages. This is why they make the worst leaders, ZERO empathy for the people that came after them.”We can all agree Gen X is the worst though right? I wrote to my millennial friend Sarah Hagi and asked her what she thought of baby boomers and Gen X.

[1/2] Musician Robbie Robertson arrives for the gala presentation of his biopic "Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band" on opening night at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada September 5, 2019. The Band included four Canadians - Robertson, Rick Danko, Garth Hudson and Richard Manuel - and was anchored by an Arkansas drummer, Levon Helm. Robbie Robertson later learned that his biological father was a man he described as a "card shark" of Jewish heritage named Alex Klegerman, who was killed in a highway hit-and-run accident before Robertson was born. Danko died at age 55 in 1999. Helm died of throat cancer in 2012.

Rhiannon Giddens Is a Songwriter, Too

Giddens amassed the songs on “You’re the One” over more than a decade, channeling and mixing favorite styles, mingling homages and hybrids. Its oldest song is “Hen in the Foxhouse,” a cheerful yet pointedly feminist funky blues — with a scat-singing bridge — that she wrote 14 years ago. “In terms of my own songwriting lineage, my lyricist lineage, it’s a through line: Stephen Sondheim, Tom Lehrer, Tin Pan Alley. “She wanted this new album to be brighter and lighter and open and colorful,” Jack Splash said in a phone interview, and she wanted all of her musical influences to come into play. It has a large room where a band of a dozen musicians — merging Giddens’s folky regulars with Jack Splash’s R&B experts — could record together live.

British musician Eric Clapton apparently tried to give $5,000 to Robert F. Kennedy Jr's presidential campaign. Like Kennedy, Clapton has been critical of vaccines and COVID-related health mandates. According to federal campaign finance law, individuals can contribute no more than $3,300, and campaigns are barred from accepting donations from foreign nationals. Kennedy's campaign refunded the donation, according to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission on Friday. Federal Election CommissionAltogether, Kennedy reported raising $6.3 million since launching his long-shot campaign for the Democratic nomination in April.

When asked at the time, he didn't say whether he had donated to Kennedy's campaign. Ackman is one of several prominent business leaders who donated to Kennedy's campaign in the second quarter. The Purple Good Government PAC, a committee that's been largely funded by investor and Elon Musk ally David Sacks, donated $6,600 to the campaign. Ken Fisher, the founder and executive chairman of Fisher Investments, donated $6,600 to the campaign, according to the filing. Veteran Wall Street executive Omeed Malik also donated $6,600 to the Kennedy campaign, the filing says.
